Enerclick - February 2007
Your Winter Energy Tune-UpFebruary 2007The week I started my new job as director of energy efficiency programs at Climate Change Central, I re-insulated my 1927 house in Calgary's historic Inglewood district. Small holes were bored into the old siding and cellulous insulation was blown into the previously empty wall spaces. The first big beneficiary was our cat Tabs, who sleeps through the day in ever greater comfort and warmth. The rest of the family also approves, since we don't have to deal with drafts and shockingly high gas bills. Energy efficiency will be getting a lot of public attention this year. After all, it's an effective way to tackle the greenhouse gas emissions we emit in our homes, offices and vehicles. enerclick will continue to bring you stories of people taking action to reduce their personal emissions. I hope you'll be inspired to take your own climate change challenge and get plugged into energy efficiency. |
