Retire Your Ride

Building on the success of the Car Heaven program, Climate Change Central is excited to offer Albertans a new vehicle recycling program, Retire Your Ride.

Retire Your Ride is an initiative of The Government of Canada, Summerhill Impact and its partners that rewards vehicle owners for getting their high-polluting cars off the road and ensures that vehicles are recycled responsibly.

Vehicles from 1995 and earlier produce 19 times more smog-forming pollutants than those made since 2004.  By retiring these vehicles we can help reduce harmful emissions.  When you Retire Your Ride you'll qualify for rewards that encourage environmentally-friendly transportation methods.  Reward options include up to a year of free public transit passes or $300 cash.

Vehicles must be 1995 and older, in running condition, registered and properly insured for the last six months to be eligible for the program.  To apply visit www.RetireYourRide.ca or call 1-877-773-1996.
