Second Alberta Furnace Replacement ProgramC3 hosted a second short-term furnace replacement program in 2005. Over 1,500 old furnaces were replaced with ENERGY STAR®-rated gas furnaces or boilers. Homeowners received up to $300 for converting to high-efficiency models. Over the 20-year life of these furnaces, homeowners will save an estimated $11 million in energy costs and reduce their greenhouse gas emissions by 120,000 tonnes. The program was a partnership between C3, Natural Resources Canada and participating furnace manufacturers. |
