All Albertans who purchase and install a qualifying replacement domestic hot water system on or after January 1, 2009 are eligible for one of the following rebates:

$250 for an ENERGY STAR® qualified instantaneous (tankless), gas-fired water heater with an energy factor (EF) of 0.82 or higher.
$300 for an ENERGY STAR® qualified instantaneous (tankless), gas-fired water heater with an EF of 0.90 or higher.
$300 for a gas-storage water heater that has a thermal efficiency of 90% or higher.

Application required: Click "Apply Now" if you replaced your hot water system outside of the federal ecoENERGY Retrofit Program.

Application not required: If you replaced your domestic hot water system and participated in the federal ecoENERGY Retrofit Program, a rebate cheque will be sent automatically. Note that applications sent through the federal ecoENERGY Retrofit Program will not be processed by the federal government until September. Natural Resources Canada then submits the required documentation to C3 to issue a provincial rebate.
