The HAT Smart Rebate Program ended on March 31, 2011. Only those applicants who completed a pre-retrofit evaluation on or before this date will be eligible for an air sealing rebate (while funding is available).
The City of Medicine Hat is funding a HAT Smart rebate to residential utility customers who participate in the federal government's ecoENERGY Retrofit Program, perform qualifying air sealing improvements, and undertake a post-retrofit evaluation on or after June 26, 2008. A rebate is also available for Home Energy Evaluations. Click here for more information.
Up to a $300 rebate is provided to all homeowners who perform air sealing to improve the airtightness of the home/building to reach the target as indicated in their home energy evaluation report. Note that the maximum rebate is a combination of the HAT Smart Air Sealing and Insulation rebate and residents may not exceed a combined rebate of $300.
No application is necessary. Once you have completed your post-retrofit energy evaluation, your Natural Resources Canada-certified energy advisor submits the required documentation to the ecoENERGY Retrofit Program which then provides C3 with the required information to issue a rebate cheque.
