Simon Knight

Simon Knight is the President and CEO of Climate Change Central (C3). As one of the initial designers of C3, Simon has played an important role in the organization's development and success, particularly in the area of energy efficiency. 

Simon established and directed Energy Solutions Alberta, C3's office of energy efficiency that has created successful consumer programs like the Alberta Furnace and Clothes Washer Replacement programs.

Simon's passion for sustainable building design has kept him active in the residential and commercial building sector for many years. Most recently, he served as the president of the Alberta Chapter of the Canada Green Building Council and is president of the Net Zero Energy Home Coalition.  He is also the Alberta representative on the National Advisory Council on Energy Efficiency and serves as a board member for the Canadian Energy Efficiency Alliance.  His commitment to sustainable design is more personally evident in C3's office space where eco-friendly and energy-efficient design elements are beautifully displayed.
 
Prior to joining C3, Simon worked in the environmental field within the Alberta government for 20 years.  At Alberta Environment, he worked on diverse issues such as biodiversity, in-stream flow needs, information management and Environmental Impact Assessments.  He has also worked for the Water Resources Division and the Recreation and Parks Department.

Mr. Knight has a Bachelor of Biological Sciences from the University of Guelph.
