Karen Gorecki
Ms. Gorecki holds a Masters degree in Public Policy and a Bachelor’s of Science in biology and environmental studies. Karen has held multiple positions with the federal government including work with Environment Canada’s Offset Group and Health Canada’s Office of Sustainable Development and Environmental Substances Division. She worked extensively with non-governmental organizations and think tanks including acting as the Executive Director of the Sierra Youth Coalition and the Vancouver Island Public Interest Research Group, and working as a Research Associate with the POLIS Project on Ecological Governance. Karen’s expertise and interests lie in market-based policies to reduce GHGs, energy quantification/modeling tools, analysis of climate mitigation policies, and effective climate change governance.

Karen Gorecki is a Policy Analyst at Climate Change Central. In working with C3 since 2006, her focus has been on carbon markets, Canadian/Albertan climate change policy, energy efficiency and renewables.
