Helen Corbett

Helen Corbett is Director of Communications and Outreach. She has worked at C3 since 2001. Helen has devoted most of her career to environmental communications. Her love for islands led her to the stormy, windswept Pribilof Islands in Alaska, and later the Commander Islands, Kamchatka. The two decades she spent in the north working as a documentary filmmaker, researcher and consultant led to her appointment as a Research Associate, Arctic Institute of North America at the University of Calgary. In 2001, she was a Ford Fellow in the Environmental Politics Program at University of California, Berkeley.

Helen has a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Alberta. She participated in the first legislative internship program in the Alberta Legislature. She has worked as a reporter for The Edmonton Journal, freelance broadcaster and writer, and as a communications consultant.
