Sonja Winkelmann

Sonja Winkelmann has been a Program Consultant for C3 since April 2009.

Her work focuses on the management and successful implementation of the New Home Consumer Rebate Program. This includes work on communication activities, stakeholder relations, as well as education and outreach initiatives for home owners and new home builders. Sonja also assists with existing programs, research and report preparation, as well as new program development.

Before joining C3 Sonja worked at EnerVision for 4.5 years. (EnerVision is a licensed Service Organization for fine programs and initiatives such as EnerGuide, Built Green™ and R-2000, and was part of the LEED for Homes Canada pilot program.) Reporting to the Executive Director, she actively contributed to the development and implementation of the Strategic Plan in a variety of management capacities; Marketing/Communications, Human Resources, as well as working on project/contract initiatives. She most enjoyed working on writing a Green Mortgage Feasibility Report, a Software Optimization Feasibility Report, the Alberta Ecotrust Ecohome project, the Waste Management initiative, the Sustainable Communities initiative for Developers and Municipalities, and the Net Zero Energy Home Coalition membership.

Her educational background is in International Business Administration which included a 6-month work and academic exchange in Germany, providing her with the German credential of Industriekauffrau. She also recently completed an Environmental Management Certificate at the University of Calgary, and she is pursuing her Canadian Certified Environmental Practitioner (CCEP) designation.
