Richard Adamson, P.Eng., MSc.
For over two decades Mr. Adamson has provided technical and marketing leadership in the commercialization of innovative technologies. After co-founding a distributed generation company in the late 1990's, which developed, manufactured, sold, installed and operated microturbine-based combined heat and power appliances, he went on to act as founding chair of a Canadian national decentralized energy industry association (New ERA). From 2002 to 2004 he served as an industry representative on the NRCan Advisory Board on Energy Science and Technology (NABEST). Mr. Adamson joined the Southern Research Institute Environment and Energy team in 2004 and works as part of the Environmental Technology Verification / Greenhouse Gas Technology Center, providing credible, independent, in-service performance verification for environmentally beneficial technologies. Mr. Adamson has been actively engaged in the development of the Carbon-to-Liquids (C2L) initiative at Southern sinceits conception in late 2005 and now serves as Center Manager for the new C2L Development Center. The Center is a 28 acre site in Durham, North Carolina that provides support facilities for pilot-scale development and testing of technologies relating to the conversion of non-hydrocarbon feedstocks such as biomass and waste, and high-value products such as fuels, chemical feedstocks and power. |

Mr. Adamson has been engaged in the commercialization of innovative technologies for over 20 years, of which 13 have related to energy and environmental technologies. He obtained his Bachelors ('81) and Masters ('86) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the University of Calgary, is a member of APEGGA and is a registered Professional Engineer in Alberta.
